This user guide is designed to get you up and running with Creel SmartDial, a powerful smart dialer that works directly within the Zoom desktop client. With Creel SmartDial, you can place outbound calls more productively, structure and upload contact lists, schedule your callbacks, take notes and keep track of your calls and history—all in one app.

2. Sign up to Creel SmartDial With Zoom

Important: You need a Zoom account.

  • Click on sign up to link your Zoom account and create your Creel SmartDial account.

3. Allow Creel SmartDial

  • Check the “Allow this app to use my shared access permissions”
  • Click Allow to link Zoom to Creel SmartDialer.

4. Log in

  • If your screen looks like this you are successfully logged in.

5. Upload your own list 

  • Click on the plus button to upload your own lists in CSV format.

6. Name your list + Download CSV template

  • You can name your list (it’s a required field)
  • Download the CSV template to use the recommended format for accurate mapping.

7. Choose Queue Position

  • When you login, you are on Standby mode by default. 
  • You can place the little cursor in any position on the queue list.
  • Example: If you choose to put the cursor on position 2, it means you will start dialing from that position.

8. Start, Pause + Updating Contacts

  • Once you hit the yellow start button, it starts dialing the number in the chosen position
  • If you want to pause to take a break you click on the yellow “pause”.
  • You can resume calling from the same position anytime by just clicking on the yellow “play”.

  • If you click on the “stop” sign, you reset the positions to 1. 

  • As soon as you are done with a call, a call note pops up on the app screen.
  • You can fill out info about contact like, name, title, company… 
  • Call Status to label your contact/lead. (ex: no answer, reschedule…)
  • At the bottom there is a section where you can put notes on the contact.

  • You can schedule callbacks by checking the callback box and choosing a date of your next call with a contact. 
  • You can also remove a contact from a list by checking the “Don’t call” 

  • As soon as you hit “Next” you dial the next call on the list queue.

  • Each contact card in Creel SmartDial displays key details and a clear call history, helping your team stay organized and follow up effectively.

At the top:

  • Name & Title (e.g., Jimmy, General Manager)

  • Company (e.g., Brockinton-Herring Motors Inc)

  • Phone (click-to-call with Zoom)

  • Email (Copy the email)

      Call History & Notes

A timeline shows all interactions, including:

  • Call status (e.g., “Interested”, “No Answer” “Reschedule”...)

  • Notes (e.g., “He asked for an email...”)

  • Timestamps for each entry.


9. Manage Callbacks + Overdues

  • The Callbacks and Overdues tabs in Creel SmartDial help you stay on top of follow-ups and never miss a key conversation.

Callbacks Tab

  • Today: Shows all callbacks scheduled for the current day.

  • Upcoming: Displays future callbacks in order of due date.

  • Delete Callback: To delete a call back click on the red delete icon.

  • Open contact card to check notes history and contact status.

  • Click-to-call: Click on the phone icon to trigger an instant call using zoom phone.

  • When a callback is overdue, it moves to the overdues tab.

10. Delete lists

  • Click the profile icon to view your uploaded lists—you can delete any list from there.

11. Log out

  • Click the lock icon to sign out of Creel SmartDial.

11. Reset password

  • To reset your password click on “Forgot password”

  • You’ll need to enter your email here.
  • You’ll receive a password reset email, follow the steps and you’ll be able to access your account.

12. Permanently delete an account

  •  To delete an account click on the “profile” icon then click on “delete account”. 
  •  After confirming the deletion, the account will stay on hold for 30 days before it is permanently deleted. 
  • To restore an account, contact us by email contact@getcreel.com

1. What is Creel SmartDial?

Creel SmartDial is a smart dialer that works directly within the Zoom desktop client. It helps sales teams call leads faster, take notes, schedule follow-ups, and stay organized—all in one place.

2. Do I need a Zoom account to use Creel SmartDial?

Yes. A Zoom account is required to sign up and use Creel SmartDial.

3. How do I sign up?

Click “Sign Up with Zoom” on our homepage. You’ll be prompted to allow access—just approve the permissions and you're in.

4. How do I upload contacts?

Click the plus (+) icon in the app to upload your contact list in CSV format. You can also download our CSV template to make sure your file is correctly formatted.

5. Can I name my contact lists?

Yes. Naming your list is required during upload and helps you stay organized.

6. What does the queue position do?

The queue position lets you choose where to start calling in your list. By default, you’re in Standby mode, and you can place the cursor at any position before hitting start.

7. How do I start or pause calls?

Click the yellow start button to begin dialing. Click “Pause” to take a break, and “Play” to resume. Clicking “Stop” resets the queue back to position 1.

8. Can I take notes during a call?

Yes. After each call, a note window appears where you can add contact info, call status (e.g., No Answer, Reschedule), and any custom notes.

9. How do I schedule a callback?

Check the “Callback” box, then choose your desired follow-up date. The contact will appear in the Callbacks tab on the scheduled day.

10. What happens if I miss a callback?

Missed callbacks automatically move to the Overdue tab. From there, you have the same options as in the Callbacks tab—view notes, check status, and make calls.

11. Can I delete a contact or a list?

Yes. You can mark a contact as “Don’t Call” to remove them from the list. To delete an entire list, go to your profile icon and manage your uploaded lists.
